The acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk brought several consequences for the platform, including API changesApplication programming interfaceor application programming interface.”>1 and the end of third-party clients. As a result, most developers have turned their attention to the much more flexible alternative social network Mastodon.
Notably, one of them was the creator of late chirp app (another Twitter client), Will Bishop developed a new app called Stompwith the aim of bringing the Mastodon social network directly to Apple Watch.
The new app promises to bring the full social network experience to the small smartwatch screen. Stomp’s features include viewing your timeline, checking trends, accessing lists, sending messages and much more.
In a practical way, it promises to replicate very efficiently all the main features found in an application for Mastodon on the iPhone, but adapted for the compact interface of the Apple watch.
Stomp is available for free on the App Store. However, there are several ways to upgrade to Stomp Pro that offer additional functionality — including the ability to create and reply to posts, send direct messages, and more.
Payment options include a “pay what you want” alternative, with one-time purchases of R$5, R$10 or R$40in addition to a $5 monthly subscription or a BRL 50 per year.
