The company has changed the name of the world famous brand that sells Russian vodka all over the world. It is noteworthy that the decision comes amid growing protests around the world once morest Russia’s military action once morest Ukraine. Vodka brands have been hit hard by sanctions and public outcry once morest Russia. With this the name was changed.
The company is trying to change the look of the Stolich vodka, which comes out with the Soviet nostalgic logo, shape and packaging. The vodka brand will now be known by the nickname Stoley. Vodka, which was marketed in the United States as Russian vodka, will no longer even use the Russian name, the company said in a statement.
The company was founded by Russian billionaire Yuri Scheffler. He has lived in Luxembourg since 2000 following criticism of Putin. Stolic vodka distilled from wheat was the most popular brand in Soviet times. Stolichnaya was the most famous vodka brand in the Soviet Union. Scheffler has always said that he is proud of the brand’s name but will no longer use the Russian name for this vodka.
Although the brand has not had much contact with Russia for years, it is popularly known as Russian Vodka in the United States. Scheffler says he was motivated to leave Russia following the Putin administration tried to hijack his brand. I’m personally experienced Putin’s persecution. Therefore, it is in no way compatible with the current offensive once morest Ukraine. Scheffler also expressed solidarity with the Ukraine struggle in every sense.
