Etumanur ∙ Daughter stole mother’s 10 Pawan gold ornaments. Daughter and son-in-law were arrested in the case. When the police recovered the gold and checked it, 5 rupees were stolen. It was also found that the daughter had taken 5 Pawan gold and replaced it with three coins. Police have arrested Aishwarya (22) and her husband Kiranraj (26), who live in a house near Karamana Hill in Thiruvananthapuram.
The theft took place at Aishwarya’s family home in Perur during Ona holidays. When Aishwarya came here for Onam, her mother had gone to work in Palakkad. The case is that Aishwarya went to Thiruvananthapuram with the gold at this time. When the mother came back, she came to know that the gold was missing. Then the mother lodged a complaint with Etumanoor police.
It was found that it was the daughter who stole the gold. Police recovered 10 rupees from Aishwarya’s husband’s house. On further inspection, it became clear that 5 pawans were three-dimensional.
From the gold that was at the time of theft, 5 Pawan necklace was taken as a pledge and in return, the same weight was pledged. The gold ornaments were kept by the mother for her younger daughter’s wedding.
The investigation was conducted by a team led by District Police Chief K. Karthik. Station SHO CR Rajesh Kumar, SI Stanley, ASI Ambika, civil police officers PC Saji, Saifuddin, KP Manoj and Subhash Vasu were also part of the investigation team. Both were produced in the first class magistrate court.
