Islamist who is said to have expressed plans for attacks on the Internet was arrested

Vienna (OTS) “The Office for the Protection of the Constitution, which was once destroyed by Herbert Kickl, is functioning once more. Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Interior Minister Gerhard Karner have cleaned up Kickl’s shambles and put the Office for the Protection of the Constitution back on the right track. This is shown by the arrest of a 17-year-old Islamist who is said to have expressed attack plans on the Internet,” explains the general secretary and security spokesman of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker. “The protection of the Austrian population is guaranteed by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. But that wasn’t always the case: as Interior Minister, FPÖ leader Kickl massively damaged the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and led it to the brink. Herbert Kickl is a massive security risk with security policy measures from the Middle Ages: For Kickl, horses and castles are the only solutions when it comes to protecting people. Modern investigative powers – such as those shockingly rejected by the FPÖ – are the order of the day,” said Stocker.
