The aim of this federal government was and will be to take structural measures and think long-term – with success, as the National Council’s budget service attests

Vienna (OTS) “The analysis by the National Council’s budget service confirms what we as a people’s party have always emphasized: the federal government’s extensive support measures have helped people with the lowest incomes the most. And the most important thing regarding it: Incomes are currently higher on average than in the pre-crisis year of 2019. And that is precisely the result of the middle path that this federal government has chosen,” says the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, pleased with the current report Budget Service of the National Council.

“On the one hand, purchasing power was not only maintained but also strengthened with structural measures such as ending cold progression or increasing family benefits. And on the other hand, the electricity price brake or the rent cap were targeted where it was needed most. Especially among the lowest income deciles, average disposable incomes are rising more nominally than consumer prices. And the international comparison also makes it certain: in Spain, a country that has been praised for its fight once morest inflation like no other, real disposable income per capita developed significantly negatively at -4.9 percent in the period from 2019 to 2022. While Austria recorded growth of 2.4 percent. “This is once once more proof that the federal government under Karl Nehammer was spot on with its measures,” concluded Stocker.
