If there were no refugee crisis, I ask myself the question: How aloof and unrealistic can one be? Italy and the Balkans are suffering from massive waves of migration. Thousands of people are drowning in the Mediterranean because of the cold greed of the smuggling mafia. But the SPÖ leader doesn’t want to admit all of this and is thus ignoring the concerns and needs of the people in the country,” says the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, amazed at the statements by SPÖ leader Andreas Babler.
“The SPÖ has replaced factual politics with left-wing ideology at the latest since Andreas Babler took over and can therefore not help but deny the migration crisis. But a problem has never been solved by looking the other way,” Stocker continues and finally emphasizes: “In contrast to the SPÖ, the People’s Party does not pursue a policy of looking the other way, but a policy of solutions. The number of asylum seekers has fallen sharply as a result of the asylum brake put on by Chancellor Nehammer and Minister of the Interior Karner. However, we have not yet reached our goal and will continue to work on consistently reducing the number of asylum seekers – both in Austria and at Europe’s external borders.”
