Stocker: “The chaos in the SPÖ continues”

Federal Council President Kovacs apparently speaks to many SPÖ members from the soul and contradicts Babler openly

Vienna (OTS) – “The chaos in the SPÖ continues. The new SPÖ chairman has apparently already failed in his attempt to unite the SPÖ. The rifts within the party became clear during the embarrassing member survey and even following the decision for Andreas Babler the rifts have not disappeared. In the ORF program ‘Hohes Haus’, Federal Council President Kovacs openly criticized Andreas Babler and his insane projects such as legalizing cannabis or speeding up to 100 km/h on the autobahns. It seems as if there were still a few reasonable people in the SPÖ who would reject a Babler-esque orientation of social democracy,” said the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, in response to today’s interview with Bundesrat President Kovacs on the ORF program High house’.

“We still don’t know what the SPÖ actually stands for. The self-proclaimed Marxist Andreas Babler gets lost in contradictions and within the SPÖ there are diametrically different views than those of the party leader. Social Democracy is doing away with itself, Austrians can no longer rely on the SPÖ,” Stocker continues and finally emphasizes: “People know that they can rely on the People’s Party for clear, common sense politics. We will continue our successful government work while the opposition is only occupied with party work. Even though the SPÖ has officially ended its blockade in the National Council, it continues to block factual politics with its self-occupation.”
