SPÖ is completely resistant to learning when it comes to migration
Vienna (OTS) – “The public proposals for the upcoming SPÖ federal party conference document that the SPÖ is in favor of more migration from Afghanistan. In concrete terms, this means: Party leader Andreas Babler wants to bring regarding complete asylum chaos in Austria. The SPÖ is completely resistant to learning when it comes to migration – neither the year 2015 nor the year 2022 has caused the Social Democrats to rethink. Apparently it has still not sunk in the ivory tower on Löwelstrasse that asylum seekers from countries like Afghanistan present us with huge challenges in terms of integration policy. In Austria we need more qualified migration – and under no circumstances migration into the social system. It is precisely the latter that would result in the SPÖ plans in practice. The SPÖ’s left-wing plans would massively increase the asylum pressure on Austria and reverse all the successes that this federal government has achieved in reducing the number of asylum seekers,” warns the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, of the irresponsible plans of the left-wing Babler-SPÖ .
“A blanket ban on deportations to Afghanistan would also ensure that even serious criminals with Afghan citizenship might not be taken out of the country. This is an outrageous line that leaves people with common sense speechless. Andreas Babler once said that ‘social democrat’ was just another word for ‘dreamer’. The implementation of the SPÖ plans would actually be a kind of dream – namely a security policy nightmare for everyone in this country. We can only hope that the last sensible forces in the SPÖ will wake up soon and get rid of these irresponsible plans,” said Stocker, who concluded by emphasizing: “The People’s Party is committed to the asylum brake being put on and will continue to consistently fight illegal migration.”
