Egisto Ott, who was suspected of espionage, had connections to the SPÖ and the FPÖ
Vienna (OTS) – “The red-blue network will be gradually disclosed. The espionage allegations once morest Egisto Ott are serious and should be fully investigated – the presumption of innocence applies. According to ‘Presse’, the former BVT employee Ott is said to have described himself as an active SPÖ member in the past. As can be learned from media reports, Egisto Ott also maintained contact with top officials of the FPÖ during his time in the BVT. Above all, the role of the FPÖ needs to be clarified – the BVT was ultimately destroyed under Herbert Kickl. The question arises once more: What role does the FPÖ play and what was Herbert Kickl looking for in the BVT? The blue party chairman must provide clarification,” says the general secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker.
“The role of Peter Pilz also needs to be clarified, who, according to various media reports – which he denied – is said to have received information from Ott. In particular, the question of how long Pilz and Ott knew each other personally is still unclear,” continues Stocker, who concludes by emphasizing: “Now it is necessary for the responsible public prosecutor’s office to investigate. For the People’s Party it is once once more clear that Herbert Kickl represents a security risk. One thing is clear: only an interior minister from the People’s Party will prevent Austria from becoming a Trojan horse for Russia in Europe.”
