IHS confirms the federal government’s middle course of intervention and maintaining purchasing power

Vienna (OTS) – “The populist demands of the opposition are rejected by the IHS expert. As can be seen from the statements by Holger Bonin, the renowned director of the IHS, the federal government’s strategy of intervening in problematic areas such as the energy sector was the right path for Austria in the long term. The IHS director cannot accept the demand for a VAT reduction in the food sector, as is often demanded by many populists in the opposition. In such a case, inflation would be postponed, but not canceled,” says the general secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, in response to the statements by IHS director Holger Bonin in the ORF press hour.
