Herbert Kickl failed across the board as Minister of the Interior

Vienna (OTS) “Kickl completely forgets that he has not fulfilled his responsibilities as Minister of the Interior. After all, as Interior Minister of the Republic for almost two years, he was responsible for preventing such developments. But it was he who allowed the parallel societies. Because: Measures to prevent parallel societies were not implemented. It is a farce that he is now trying to blame the current interior minister for his failures. Because the mess he left in the inner resort is not worthy of a former minister. Let’s remember that he severely damaged state security, after all, as Minister of the Interior, he was responsible for the biggest security scandal in the republic. Keyword: BAT”, says the General Secretary and security spokesman of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, on the statements of the FPÖ chairman in relation to the riots in Favoriten.

“Interior Minister Karner is a guarantor for the security of the country. The success of Gerhard Karner and Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer can be clearly documented. Be it the asylum numbers, which are falling month by month thanks to the asylum brake, or be it stable internal security. Since the current federal government was sworn in, Austria has been safer than ever. Let’s remember the riots in the spring of 2018, when protesters escalated to the point that they knocked over garbage cans, trash cans and park benches and even threw cobblestones at police patrols. Herbert Kickl failed across the board as Minister of the Interior. I would like to thank Interior Minister Gerhard Karner for his outstanding and careful work,” Stocker concludes.
