And it is no coincidence that the attacks from the FPÖ against the DSN do not stop. Apparently, Kickl has a problem with the fact that the Austrian Office for the Protection of the Constitution keeps an eye on the Kickl-FPÖ’s connections to the extreme right-wing and new-right scene. Kickl’s goal was to undermine all security institutions, especially the BVT, and paint them blue,” says the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, unsurprised by the confirming statements of the former BVT boss Peter Gridling.

“The house search at the BVT led to the greatest loss of trust on the part of the international partner services. And that’s why we stick to it: Kickl is a wrong-way driver in terms of security policy and therefore a security risk for Austria. Something like this shouldn’t be allowed to happen again,” emphasizes Stocker, who finally emphasizes: “The fact that the WKStA confiscated sensitive data in the course of the house searches and thus allowed itself to be exploited in this way throws a significant light on the work of the WKStA.”
