It needs support for tenants and owners. There must be no trading off of rent once morest property.
Vienna (OTS) – “The goals defined by Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer in his speech are supported by experts. In today’s ORF press hour, the renowned expert and President of the Fiscal Council, Christoph Badelt, endorsed the Chancellor’s goals – such as on the subject of housing: Support is needed for people in crisis, but we cannot achieve that through populist demands a general rent cap. Instead, a model is needed that also takes into account the elimination of property transfer tax on the first home. As a people’s party, we stand for holistic solutions that everyone in society can take with them. We are certainly not to be had for short-sighted clientelism, which also completely forgets the people in eight out of nine federal states,” emphasizes the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker.
“Badelt also supports Chancellor Nehammer’s call for degressive unemployment benefits. This reasonable measure might ensure that people get back to work quickly and at the same time the gap between those who generate wealth and those who live on social benefits despite being able to work widens once more. The promise of performance in our society must be renewed once more,” said Stocker, and finally: “The clear announcements by the Federal Chancellor regarding more childcare places and the reduction of taxes and levies also meet with the approval of the experts.”
