The quick shot demands of the FPÖ do not provide any protection for cash

Vienna (OTS) “The FPÖ’s demand for a special session is purely show politics. Herbert Kickl knows that very well. Nevertheless, that doesn’t stop him from asking for one. We need honest, honest politics. This also includes a well thought-out legal text. This applies both to constitutional provisions and to ordinary legal regulations, because security of supply in rural areas is also at stake. We are taking on this together with our coalition partner. The Kickls maneuver, on the other hand, is just a cheap trick used by the FPÖ to provoke new elections. The FPÖ’s request for a special session is not regarding cash at all, but once once more regarding dividing and polarizing. This is also reflected in the fact that FPÖ Secretary General Christian Hafenecker has announced that he wants to look at the government proposal. Before that might even happen, party chairman Kickl pushed ahead with his call for a special session,” said the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, rejecting the FPÖ’s hasty call for a special session.

“As a people’s party, we are clearly committed to protecting cash in constitutional terms. However, this protection must be legally well thought out and properly worked out. The citizens expect the same. It was precisely for this reason that Finance Minister Brunner set up the ‘Task Force Cash’ to collect the best ideas and work out a good solution. Because the People’s Party is regarding real protection and not regarding a cheap headline,” Stocker concluded.
