Investing.com – US stocks were mixed at the end of trading on Monday, as gains in the , , and . On the other hand, losses were recorded in the , and , sectors, which led the indices lower.
At the end of trading in New York, it increased by 0.16%, and reached its highest record level within a month, while it fell by regarding 0.08% and fell by regarding 0.22%.
Among the leading stocks today were Boeing Co (NYSE:), which rose 4.01% or 7.89 points to reach 204.54 at the close. On the other hand, Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) shares continued to rise by 1.33%, or 1.17 points, and closed at 89.44, while Merck & Co. (NYSE:) shares increased by 1.07%, or 1.08 points, to 102.47 at the end of the session.
As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, Nike Inc. (NYSE:) stock closed down 1.80%, or 1.91 points, and traded at 104.20 at the close. Intel Group shares (NASDAQ:) fell by 1.62%, or 0.63 points, at a price of 38.23, while Home Depot Company shares (NYSE:) closed down by 1.21%, or 3.52 points, at 288.07.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was recorded by DaVita Healthcare Partners (NYSE:), which rose by 6.49% at a price of 88.38. Insulet Corp (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 5.55% and closed at levels 163.71, and Henry Chain (NASDAQ:) stock rose regarding 5.35% and ended its trading at 67.50.
Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Illumina Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 5.67% and closed its session at 92.79, VF Corp (NYSE:), which lost 5.03% at 14.15, and Bath & Body Works. Inc. (NYSE:), which weakened by 4.22% and closed at 29.73 today’s session on the stock exchange.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by Tenax Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose by 297.44% at a price of 0.62. Tivic Health Systems Inc (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 78.33% and closed at levels 2.14, and Zyversa Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) stock rose regarding 40.27% and ended its trading at 0.09.
Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Aclaris Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 86.44% and closed its session at 0.64, Mainz Biomed BV (NASDAQ:), which lost 46.43% at 1.20, and Verve Therapeutics. Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 40.83% and closed at 9.29 in today’s stock exchange session.
The number of stocks that declined more than the number of stocks that closed higher in trading on the New York Stock Exchange, with 1,523 compared to 1,375, while 86 remained unchanged.
