A 54-year-old man’s heart stopped more than 100 times in just 24 hours, along with a low resting heart rate, which was less than 30 beats per minute, and should be between 60-100 beats per minute in adult men.
David Last went to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital following the doctor advised him to do so, where he booked an MRI, according to the Mirror.
The results of the x-rays came out, and the man in his fifties learned that there was a serious problem when the doctor called him 5 times, and it turned out that he was at risk of sudden cardiac death.
“My wife always says she saved my life, and she’s not wrong, she bought me a smartwatch for my birthday that measures heartbeats, and if it wasn’t for this watch, I wouldn’t be alive,” Lust said.
“I will always be grateful to my wife for that, and she is always by my side,” he added, explaining that this smartwatch was measuring his heart rate and telling him if there was an issue to worry regarding.
Last confirmed, that the hospital had a ready bed, he was immediately transferred to him and the necessary measures were taken to save his life, noting that the medical team before the surgery said that his condition was unfamiliar, and they held extensive meetings on what he might do.
Last reported that doctors explained that he had a condition called “heart block”, meaning the failure and cessation of electrical impulses and nerve signals in the heart, and then the heart stopped 138 times within 48 hours, and each time lasted for 10 seconds.
The strange thing is that Last and his family did not suffer from any medical history of complications and heart problems, and he also did not have any previous symptoms indicating the presence of a problem, to the extent that he traveled with his wife to Italy for 10 days for a new honeymoon together, and did not know that he had anything but natural.
And Lust revealed that the doctors were astonished when they learned that he was active and walked on the electric treadmill in his house on a daily basis.
