Stib has carried out new tests to check the air quality for its staff, inform our colleagues from BX1. Brussels Mobility Minister Elke Van den Brandt (Groen) said the results were reassuring. The Vandervelde, Ribaucourt and Gare du Midi stations were indeed analyzed for 8 hours and these showed that the concentrations measured represent less than 10% of the Occupational Exposure Limit Value, the reference in force for all the compounds measured (inhalable and alveolar dust, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes and CO).
Very satisfactory analyzes were also made for “black carbon”. The results are particularly low due to the electric motors of the metro.
