Steyr town square: Truck driver overlooked 80-year-old while reversing

According to police, the serious accident occurred around 1 p.m. A 54-year-old driver from the Vöcklabruck district wanted to drive a company truck backwards into the pedestrian zone on the town square in Steyr to make a delivery. A clearly audible reversing signal was said to have been switched on.

According to the police, the 54-year-old only saw too late in the rear-view camera that a pedestrian had approached. The 80-year-old pensioner from Steyr was hit by the rear of the truck and fell under the vehicle. She was taken to hospital injured.
