The special engine manufacturer Steyr Motors is on the road to recovery. As reported, there were tough cuts under the Munich-based restructuring fund Mutares following its takeover in 2022. 30 to 40 percent of the workforce of 125 employees had to go.
Steyr Motors has now reached the break-even point once more, the company announced on Thursday. The number of employees rose to 120, and sales increased from 30 to more than 40 million euros between 2022 and 2023. This year, Steyr Motors expects almost 50 million euros. The organizational structure has been streamlined, processes made more efficient and business abroad has been expanded.
Several changes of ownership
Steyr Motors was once owned by Steyr Daimler Puch, later by Magna and the former nationalization minister Rudolf Streicher. Before Mutares, the owner was the French defense company Thales.
