Stephen Curry shines like Michael Jordan, Los Angeles Lakers lost again

Silence we sink: Tenth defeat for the Lakers

Tonight, the Lakers did without LeBron James…and still defenseless. Collecting 120 points in a basketball game seriously complicates your task and the teammates of the “King” did not lie the adage. In front of the score at the break once morest Sacramento (60-56), the Lakers stammered the last two quarters and lost for the tenth time this season, in twelve outings (120-116).

The two remaining stars, Anthony Davis (24 points, 14 rebounds) and Russell Westbrook (21 points, 11 assists but 6/17 in shooting) have tried to fight but the collective of eye-catching Kings this season (5v-6d) has makes the difference. Behind DeAron Fox’s 32 points, they are five to have scored more than ten points. The Los Angeles Lakers are second to last in the west.

The “old man” who still shines: Another 40 points for Curry

He is 34 years old and is now even closer to 35 but nothing prevents Stephen Curry from getting high. The leader of the Golden State Warriors delivered a new recital (40 points) to lead his team to victory once morest Cleveland (106-101), the fifth in twelve games this season for Californians not yet in balance.

When you have to pull out all the stops, you can count on the double MVP (2015 and 2016). At 34 years and 242 days, he became the oldest player since Michael Jordan (in 2022 at almost 39 years old…) to chain two matches to 40 points or more. Better, he did it with a barely believable success: 15/23 in shooting including 6/11 from a distance. Simply fabulous.

The shock: Boston offers Denver

Denver and Boston are two candidate teams for the NBA Finals. They clashed last night and the victory failed in the hands of excellent Celtics at the start of the season (131-112). They now have nine wins for three losses while the Nuggets “fall” to eight wins for four losses.

On fire since the launch of the 2022/2023 campaign, Jayson Tatum has once more made the powder speak with 34 points, well supported by the 25 of Jaylen Brown. The Bostonians made the difference in the first period and kept the advantage over Denver’s Nikola Jokic (29 points).

The surprise: The Spurs offer themselves the Bucks

Yes San Antonio managed a better start to the season than expected but from there to see Gregg Popovich’s men fall the Milwaukee Bucks who had lost only once, there was a step. This was crossed (111-93) by Keldon Johnson (29 points) and his family. It should be noted, however, that the Bucks were deprived of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton.

The French of the night

Second good game in a row for Kilian Hayes with the Pistons. Still off the bench, the leader scored 11 points and delivered 7 assists. Good ! Winner of Detroit with the Knicks, Evan Fournier did not make a single basket in the game (0/5 for 3 small points) and continues to suffer. Rudy Gobert was discreet (15 points, 6 rebounds) in the defeat of the Timberwolves in Memphis.

The results of the night

Memphis – Minnesota 114 – 103
LA Lakers – Sacramento 114 – 120
New York – Detroit 121 – 112
Golden State – Cleveland 106 – 101
Oklahoma City – Toronto 132 – 113
San Antonio – Milwaukee 111 – 93
Boston – Denver 131 – 112
Orlando – Phoenix 114 – 97
