Stephen Curry confirms his desire to play the Olympics in Paris

At the end of this NBA week in Paris, we are already planning on the future. The capital is now preparing to host the next Olympic Games and in particular the basketball tournament, in which Stephen Curry wants to take part.

Stephen Curry back with Team USA ten years later? In any case, this is what the chef implied.

Obviously, the best shooter in history has won everything, whether in the NBA or in FIBA. With the American national team, the Chef notably won two World Cups, but never participated and won an Olympic title. Curry was not selected for the 2012 Olympics and missed the 2016 Olympics through injury. In Tokyo in 2021 he had given up competition in order to preserve himself physically.

One thing Steph now wants to fix. Indeed after the victory of the Warriors at the Alamodome against the Spurs, Stephen Curry spoke against Marc Stein, in remarks relayed by Bleacher Reportand indicated that he wanted to play the Olympic Games in 2024 in Paris.

“I’m more than excited to be able to do this. I’ve played in two world champion teams and anyone who’s lived through them can never hesitate to say how different the Olympic Games are. They all say it’s not even close in terms of ambiance, atmosphere, preparation, adrenaline and all that. I don’t know what the odds are because you don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’d love to have that experience one day, that’s for sure” – Stephen Curry

As a reminder, Steve Kerr – coach of the Warriors who will take the lead of Team USA for the competition – had chambered his colt in June, after the title won by Golden State. While the announcer indicated that Curry had won everything, Steve had cracked a “Not the Olympic Games” sounding of course humorous but perhaps a little “call of the foot” if you follow us. The Chief replied that he was ready to return to Team USAand that he had the Olympic gold medal in his sights.

“I’m not done yet…because I have to go and play for Coach Kerr in 2024 in Paris. It’s not an ‘I’ll go’ huh, that’s what he said!

We enjoyed a week with the NBA in Paris. After Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Killian Hayes, Paname will have to wait a year before surely welcoming Stephen Curry.
