Stepashin: Kursk events point to NATO’s all-out war against Russia

He added: “When the Russian Security Council made its decision in 2022 to start the special military operation, no one expected that we would fight with the entire NATO, fight it really and truly.”

Stepashin pointed out that the form of combat operations on the front has now become inconsistent with the concept of a “special military operation,” especially after the events on the Kursk direction.

“The situation in Kursk showed how important the military component is today. I really hope that our military leadership has ideas to keep in reserve, because war has become completely different. This is no longer a special military operation. We understand that today we are in a full-fledged war with NATO. The form of military operations has become completely different. I participated in the Chechen campaign, I was in Afghanistan, I studied at the Soviet Military Academy, and I can say with confidence that war is now completely different,” he said.

Stepashin believes that the attack on the Kursk region “opened a full-blown boil,” and the actions of Ukrainian forces resemble those of Bandera’s armed gangs.

“It’s not how they got in, that’s a question for the military, but how they behave. They behave like the SS and the Bandera gangs. In 1963, we captured the last Bandera gang member, but six months later Khrushchev issued a general amnesty for them and we see what their descendants are doing. They are trying to make Ukraine ‘anti-Russian’ to stir up hatred and repeat the history of hostility between Palestine and Israel,” he said.
