Step in the implementation of health measures for women victims of violence: meeting of the monitoring committee chaired by Agnès Firmin Le BodoMinister Delegate in charge of Territorial Organization and Health Professions, and Isabelle Lonvis-RomeMinister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men, Diversity and Equal Opportunities, Friday 16 June.
Equality between women and men is, for the second consecutive time, the great cause of the five-year term of the President of the Republic. In this context, the fight once morest violence once morest women is a government priority. The government is taking action to prevent violence and better manage its health and psychological consequences for the victims.
Installed on November 25, 2022 on the occasion of the International Day for the fight once morest violence once morest women, the monitoring committee, organized by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, brings together health professionals, support associations women and institutional actors. Its objective is to draw up an inventory of the measures aimed at strengthening the care of women victims of violence and to take stock of future projects.
The delegate ministers Isabelle Lonvis-Rome and Agnès Firmin Le Bodo wanted to make a first progress report and announced:
A new envelope of 2.5 million euros for 2023 in order to deploy comprehensive care structures for women victims of violence (33 dedicated systems in November 2021, 56 today) which are dedicated places, backed by hospitals, and which allow multidisciplinary care adapted to women victims of violence. The objective set by the All and All Equal Plan presented by the Prime Minister on March 8 is to double the number of these systems, in order to achieve a structure by department by 2025. and will be the subject of dedicated funding.
Ministers Agnès Firmin Le Bodo and Isabelle Lonvis-Rome announced the launch before the summer of work led by the Ministry of Health, to propose a new specifications for these structures. This will insist on accessibility for women with disabilities, the facilitation of the filing of complaints and the collection of evidence without complaint in these structures, their better articulation with the associative network and the other support structures and the improving psychological care.
Agnès Firmin Le Bodo said “Violence once morest women has serious health consequences, which require appropriate and multi-professional care. These places dedicated to the victims, which are the Maisons des femmes santé, must be accessible in all territories. On Monday, I will participate in the launch of the strategic committee of the future Maison des femmes du Havre to support this project built by health professionals who are on the front lines alongside the victims. »
Isabelle Lonvis-Rome said: “In the wake of the Grenelle, support for women victims of violence has been considerably strengthened to better meet their needs. As announced in the All and All Equal Plan, we are doubling the number of medico-social structures, so that each department has at least one comprehensive care structure before the end of 2025, in close collaboration with specialized associations. The situation and needs of a woman victim of violence are specific. They require taking into account the path of the victim in an integral way. »
