The use of Artificial intelligence is expanding more and more in the automotive sector. An example of this is the Stellarwhich currently has 80 generative AI use casesas seen by its vice-president and head of global digital platforms from the automaker, André Souza.
The news was revealed by him during a conversation with the Mobile Time portal last Friday (10). During the “Cubo Experts – AI” event, organized by Cubo Itaú, Souza explained a little regarding these identified cases. In this sense, AI is in several different stages of implementation.
According to the executive, technology helps in the website’s purchasing process. Likewise, copilot to seller is also among the use cases. Additionally, there is the case of the vehicle user manual through WhatsApp.
In fact, generative AI can answer even some more complex questions, such as a question regarding a light that came on on the car dashboard. It is also worth mentioning that the company is training language models with proprietary images to help design new cars.
Stellantis, according to André Souza, is also using traditional AI and other elements such as machine learning and computer vision:
For example, at the Goiana/PE factory we assemble Jeep Renegade, Commander, Compass, Toro and Rampage. At the back of these vehicles – depending on the model, type and color – the versions may be different [o próprio Rengegade tem seis alternativas, como Turbo, Sport e Trailhawk]. This gives an absurd variability of results. So, we use computer vision to scan in real time and ensure that what was assembled is right or not.
