Tourism expert Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger (45) will be the new managing director of Österreich Werbung (ÖW) from May 1, 2023. The Carinthian succeeds Lisa Weddig, who requested early termination of her contract in autumn 2022 for private reasons and will be available until the end of March. Steharnig-Staudinger was unanimously chosen by the selection committee from 33 applicants, said Secretary of State for Tourism Susanne Kraus-Winkler on Friday.

Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger will be appointed for five years at the next meeting of the ÖW Presidium. Her company Linking Brands will be continued under new management, she wants to withdraw completely from the company she founded.
