The issue has now returned with Koumoundourou’s leaks, on the occasion of some information that the State Member of Parliament and Harvard professor Othonas Iliopoulos has informed Koumoundourou that his obligations at the American university do not allow him to adequately exercise the duties of the parliamentarian in Greece.
“Half of them say that I will resign because I have been forced by Kasselakis. Last scenario is that I will resign because my job will force me to. One thing I have to say is that no one has pressured me in my work, that even if I had been pressured, I personally make the decisions about what I will do and try to optimize the way I will represent the Hellenic diaspora”, said Othonas Iliopoulos, however, added that he does not rule out something like this happening in the future, as he said:
“My system is overstretched. I run a clinic, I run a laboratory, we have very big clinical successes lately, I work with expats a lot, I try to be in Parliament and I come and go. There is a workload, which I think at some point will inevitably raise the question of what I keep, what I leave, and as time goes by I somehow participate more in the executive functions within SYRIZA”.
Other information states that Mr. Kasselakis is trying to find a way to be in the Parliament not now, but after the European elections. And since the procedures and discussions with the runners-up have already started, the matter was learned and Koumoundourou was forced to make leaks, to make it appear that it is becoming known on her own initiative…
However, the possible resignation of Mr. Iliopoulos is not enough to pave the way for Stefanos Kasselakis to the Parliament. Popi Tsapanidou, Michalis Kalogirou, Tzeni Livadarou, Athanasios Tsakris and Georgetta Lalis must also resign.
