Associates of the President of SYRIZA who were already in the village of Skines, approached the TV crews and journalists, asking them to leave the village, as it was a private, family event, as they reported. In fact, they emphasized that if they do not leave, Stefanos Kasselakis will not get there.
A few minutes after the departure of the TV crews, Stefanos Kasselakis appeared at the pre-wedding party, organized by his uncle, in which relatives and residents of his hometown had the opportunity to wish him in person for the happy event.
“With great joy, Skines, the relatives and friends of the family will welcome Stefanos since he starts the four-day events from the village where his grandfather and father were born. Residents and friends are waiting, we have prepared xerotigana, egg squid, tsikoudia, traditional paximadi”, said Yannis Kasselakis, former Member of Parliament of Chania and uncle of Stefanos.
Four days festivities in Chania
The Stefanou-Tyler couple may be asking for respect, and indeed with an official announcement, but already enough has been leaked about the four-day party until dawn that they are setting up in Crete.
So far it is said that the wedding reception and ceremony (if it happens again) will take place at the Botanical Garden, just outside Chania, one of the couple’s favorite places, on Friday 30 August.
Specifically, the wedding celebration will begin today, August 28, and will end on Saturday. During these four days, the guests will enjoy dinner in an event estate, but also in a well-known restaurant in the old port of Chania.
Lamb, local aged graviera, fennel pies, citrus fruits, avocado and sourdough with aubergines are some of the flavors that will star, while the wedding table will not miss xerotiganas with tsikoudia.
Among the drinks that will be offered are the local champagne… raki, the homemade lemonade, but also a cocktail based on gin.
Previously, the owner of the Botanical Garden, Petros Marinakis, had told “Tlive” that the space will be closed at 5 pm to the public, in order to exchange vows in the outdoor stone amphitheater of the garden, in the presence of 130 guests. Immediately after, according to Petros Marinakis, a reception will follow directly above the amphitheater, where there is a restaurant, with an emphasis on Cretan flavors and local dishes.
