Munich (ots) – On Friday evening, actor Stefan Gorski (32) was honored with the Bavarian Film Prize 2023 as “Best Actor” in Munich’s Prinzregententheater. The film prize, awarded on the recommendation of an eleven-member expert jury, is the crowning achievement of his career to date: “I am very pleased to receive this prestigious award for my first leading role in the cinema and would like to thank everyone involved. It was an absolute gift for me to be given it gave me the chance to push my limits with this role. To embody a character who doesn’t have much dialogue and yet says so much. It was a challenge that I loved and I gave everything physically and mentally to this challenge – at the highest altitudes and lowest temperatures,” says Stefan Gorski.

In Hans Steinbichler’s bestselling film adaptation A WHOLE LIFE, Stefan Gorski (CONTRA, DAS SACHER) embodies the role of Andreas Egger in the different age periods together with August Zirner (THE FAKERS, COLONIA DIGNIDAD) and young actor Ivan Gustafik. Film critic Andreas Körner wrote: “It takes three actors, plus three good ones, and it has them. Stefan Gorski, a refreshing, largely unknown face, takes on the lion’s share […] And yet the adaptation of Robert Seethaler’s “novel of the century” becomes a homogeneous ensemble piece supported by everyone involved – powerful, tender, brilliant, emotional, enriching, filling every large screen.” Julia Franz Richter (UNDINE) and Andreas Lust play other key roles (CHESS NOVEL), Maria Hofstätter (KAISERSCHMARRNDRAMA, PARADISE: FAITH, LOVE, HOPE), Thomas Schubert (RED SKY), Marianne Sägebrecht (OUT OF ROSENHEIM) and Robert Stadlober (CRAZY, THE BOAT).

A WHOLE LIFE is a production by EPO-Film Vienna and TOBIS Filmproduktion Munich in co-production with Magic Media Production in collaboration with the ORF Film/TV Agreement, supported by the Austrian Film Institute, FISA – Film Location Austria, IDM Film Commission South Tyrol, Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo, Cine Tirol Film Commission as well as FFF Bayern, German Film Fund of the BKM and FFA.

Short synopsis: Around 1900, the orphan boy Egger comes to the remote Alpine valley where he spends most of his life. Exploited as cheap labor on his uncle’s farm, he receives little affection. Will her love carry him through his entire life?
