Goalkeeper Stefan Frei (36) is a Champions League winner. The Seattle Sounders with the St. Gallen win the title in the North America/Central America zone for the first time. The 36-year-old is also named MVP and best goalkeeper of the tournament.

In the second leg of the final, the Sounders beat Pumas UNAM from Mexico 3-0 at home in front of a record crowd of 67,000 spectators, the first leg a week earlier ended 2-2. The 36-year-old Frei, who has worked in Seattle for a good eight years, contributes to the triumph with some miraculous saves. Peruvian Raul Ruidiaz (31) scored twice.
