Stefan Bradl: Marc doesn’t make me a tenth faster / MotoGP

Stefan Bradl was happy and grateful that Marc Márquez supported him in the Repsol Honda pits today and also watched him on the track. “But he has no tip that makes me a tenth faster.”

Stefan Bradl (32) set the 18th time in the first free practice session for the Austrian Motorcycle GP, losing 1.992 seconds to the best time. In FP2, the Bavarian slipped back to 21st place. «There is nothing special to tell. But here once more we have a special carcass on the rear tire. I have now tried this tire for the first time and experienced how big the difference is to our standard rear tire. I’m having trouble with it at the moment. We have to see if we can improve something for Saturday. So far it’s a normal weekend in terms of results.”

Marc Márquez also made himself useful in FP2 as a Riding Coach for his former Moto2 World Championship rival. “It was really nice to have him in the box. You can clearly see and feel how motivated he is. He wants to get this project back on track and prepare his comeback. That’s why he’s flying back to Spain this evening. We have the same opinion regarding the future and our bike. It was good to be able to talk face to face with Marc once more and have discussions regarding the future. We want to do everything together with HRC to be able to celebrate success once more in the foreseeable future. Especially Marc.”

But Bradl knows that the Ducati superiority here in Spielberg is no match for it. “Not even Marc can change that. Even he can’t give any specific advice that will make you a tenth of a second faster on the spot. It’s really good that he. here is. But we primarily talk regarding. Technical details. The level of riding in MotoGP is so high that even a tip from a rider like Marc Márquez won’t get you any further. Nobody chooses the wrong ideal line… He looks fit. Now I’m curious to see when he can dare his comeback and what we can expect from him in the future.”
