Steel Seed shows its gameplay and technicality – Test and News

Announced on January 31 with great fanfare on IGN, the new production from the creators of Close to the Sun reveals more during this Future Games Show 2023. Combining Action, adventure and infiltration, Steel Seed present to us today son gameplay, sur Unreal Engine 5, in a pretty tantalizing 3-minute video. We follow in this one Zoé, the protagonist of the game, in spatial environments that are quite pretty, although a bit generic for science fiction regulars. The title developed by the team of Storm in a Teacup, takes us to a world where the human race has – yet again – brought the planet to the brink of destruction. Thousands of years later, the remnants of the human species sequestered below the surface will attempt to save the few of them from a new emerging threat…

From a gameplay perspective, the Italian studio takes full advantage of verticality allowed on a space station. We actually see Zoé climbing and climbing the metal walls, escaping from explosions thanks to a certain stealth. She will be accompanied by Koby, a companion drone allowing her to assess the conditions of the battlefield, to best use the shadows to cover herself. A fast hand-to-hand combat system will allow you to slay your enemies if delicacy and infiltration are not your forte.

Expected for 2024 without further details, Steel Seed seems full of promise, both in terms of technique and gameplay as well as storytelling and which we hope will hold up over time. Space adventures still have a bright future ahead of them on Xbox!
