Yesterday saw the release of the free-to-play co-op shooter The First Descendant, which was one of the most frequently wishlisted games on Steam.

The game is positioned as a “new generation” looter shooter. The main features here are strategic battles once morest huge bosses, unique characters with different skills, four-player co-op, and high-quality graphics on Unreal Engine 5.

In the first hours following the release, The First Descendant’s peak online exceeded 220 thousand players. Currently, the game ranks sixth in online among all games on the service, beating GTA V and Apex Legends. In addition, The First Descendant managed to break into the top in revenue on Steam, and this is despite the summer sale currently underway.

Despite its obvious commercial success, user reviews are mixed – 46% based on over 13,000 reviews. The project is most often criticized for bugs and optimization issues. At the moment, players have not expressed any complaints regarding the gameplay, mentioning similarities with Destiny 2 and Warframe.

The First Descendant is currently in its pre-season. The game already has a battle pass, and the first batch of new characters will be added in August. There is no Ukrainian translation.
