Independent game studio Just Purkey Games announced that the heavy metal hunting horror game “The Axis Unseen” (tentative translation, Invisible Axis) will be released on PC on October 22. The game will support a Traditional Chinese interface, and the demo will be open for trial play at the same time.
“The Axis Unseen” is a first-person action-adventure game set in a mysterious supernatural open world.
Players will use bows and arrows as their main weapons (with a knife as their secondary weapon) to explore the environment and hunt various ancient monsters and ghosts from folklore. The monsters will leave footprints and bloodstains. When tracking the trajectory, players must pay attention to the wind direction to avoid being detected by the prey.
The game features original metal BGM and an immersive gaming experience. The music is composed by Bryant Clifford Meyer, a member of post-metal bands ISIS and Red Sparowes. The BGM will dynamically change according to the situations encountered in the game.
There is very little UI display on the game screen to prevent too many interface elements from hindering the player’s immersive experience. For example, when checking the remaining number of arrows, you must check the quiver, and the character’s HP is displayed through the tattoo on the hand.
As the main firepower for annihilating monsters, there are many types of arrows, including flame arrows, wind-driven arrows, time-warping arrows, etc. Players can use monster materials to strengthen bows and arrows, or develop new types of arrows. Each type of arrows shot Arrows can trigger linkage effects, like flames ignited by flaming arrows that can spread through wind arrows.
In the process of hunting monsters, you can use arrows with special effects to achieve miraculous effects. Hunting monsters not only obtains bow and arrow materials, but also collects “biological power” to strengthen the protagonist’s hunting senses. Through strengthening, you will be able to see odor particles and feel You can see the body temperature left by the monster’s footprints, etc., and see colors that humans can’t see originally.
In addition, the wilderness world is littered with diaries and drawings left by ancestors. Interpreting these data will help uncover the truth about monsters and what happened to ancestors, and gradually explore the whereabouts of hunters and the origin of this world.
