Steam Deck, as a portable game console developed by Steam, allows us to play games on Steam more conveniently. In the early hours of March 11, Steam Deck announced the availability of Windows drivers.
Steam Deck supports the installation of other applications and operating systems. If users want to install Windows, to get a better experience, they need to install some additional drivers themselves to get the best experience.
For now, Steam Deck can only be installed on Windows. While Steam Deck is dual-bootable, the SteamOS installer that provides a dual-boot wizard is not yet ready, and some errors may occur if you force it. However, we need to note that Steam Deck officially stated that users can only install Windows 10 at present. Installing Windows 11 requires a new BIOS, “Currently this BIOS (with fTPM support) is still in the works and will be available soon.”
In addition to the above, Steam Deck officially provides drivers for GPU, WiFi and Bluetooth, and is working with AMD and other partners to produce audio drivers. Users can still play audio via Bluetooth or USB-C on Steam Deck with Windows installed.
Steam Deck officially stated that they can only provide these resources, and they cannot provide support following Windows is installed on Steam Deck.If the user encounters a problem that cannot be solved, they can go back to the default SteamOS and follow theResume instructed actionthereby solving the problem.
