POLICE arrested a man named Angga Darmawan alias Bonge (40), who repeatedly stole helmets in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang. The perpetrator sold the stolen helmets via COD.
“The stolen helmets were immediately sold via COD near the STAN campus, each helmet priced at Rp. 50 thousand,” said Pondok Aren Police Chief, Commissioner Bambang Askar Sodiq to reporters, Tuesday (30/7).
Bambang said the proceeds of the crime were used to buy narcotics in the form of crystal methamphetamine. From the results of the urine test, the perpetrator tested positive for consuming drugs.
“Yes, the proceeds of crime were used to buy drugs. The perpetrator explained and admitted that he had indeed consumed methamphetamine last on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Boncos area, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta,” he said.
The police also conducted a search of the perpetrator’s rented house. At the location, hard drugs of the Tramadol type were found, which were known to belong to the perpetrator.
“In his boarding room, no evidence was found relating to narcotics of the crystal methamphetamine type, but only a package of G-type Tramadol drugs which the perpetrator had previously obtained by buying in the Cipadu area, Pondok Aren, Tangsel,” he said.

It was previously known that Angga Darmawan alias Bonge (40) was arrested by the police for stealing a helmet at a vegetable shop in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang. The results of the investigation showed that the perpetrator had stolen helmets dozens of times.
“This is a specialist helmet thief, he has committed his actions 18 times,” said Pondok Aren Police Chief, Commissioner Bambang Askar Sodiq in his statement, Tuesday (30/7).
The theft committed by the perpetrator ended after he stole a helmet in front of a vegetable shop on Jalan Raya Pondok Aren, Tangsel, on Sunday (28/7) afternoon.
His actions were also recorded by CCTV in the shop. Receiving a report of the theft of the helmet, the police immediately conducted an investigation at the location.
“The results of the CCTV recording are that the perpetrator who stole the helmet of the Sanum Store visitor is a man wearing a black hat and a gray sweater riding a black and white Yamaha Xeon motorcycle,” he explained. (Fik/Z-7)
