Check the latest weather alerts for your neighborhood here.
The storms kicked in beginning Thursday night, especially to the northwest in the lower Hudson Valley, giving way to a frontal system.
Ana Ledo shows us what the panorama looks like.
This was just the beginning of several days of instability that will continue through the weekend with the possibility of a few severe storms impacting the tri-state area with damaging winds, hail, flash flooding, and even the possibility of a few isolated tornadoes.
The storms will come in waves as the front passes and some low pressure waves will develop over the area.
The first round lasts this Friday and more rains are expected until the night. Our weekend will also be affected with some thunderstorms in the followingnoon on Saturday with more rain falling on Sunday.
This new system comes following our region was impacted by heavy downpours that caused severe flooding earlier this business week.
