Stay Human will not arrive with launch crossplay

Right now the support for games between platforms is an option already assumed by many players. Although unfortunately this is not normal, it is true that every time there are more games that bet on it. Microsoft is undoubtedly the current video game company that is most committed to this type of cross-play, and if you do not believe me, here is the list of all games with crossplay between platforms.

One would hope that a high-budget game like Dying Light 2: Stay Humen would have been grounded in cross-play values. We are not talking regarding an old project that is alien to this incipient fashion, so I am very surprised that Techland has decided not to bet on it.

At the moment Crossplay is not considered in Dying Light 2

Of course, this does not mean that it will never arrive, in fact from the study they do not close the door to implement it later. Confirmation of the “non-arrival” of the launch crossplay has been provided by Tymon Smektala a recent direct with MPS1st.

Smektala is currently a Lead Designer at Techland, and his words to the question were something like: “No, not at this time. It wont be available”. Too closed the door to cross-play between the same platform at launch, that is, you will not be able to play with Xbox One users if you are playing on Xbox Series X or S. Luckily this will come later:

This will not be possible at game launch, but we are working to make it possible following launch.

We know that Dying Light 2: Stay Human will have a support of approximately 5 years, so I would not rule anything out right now. The only thing we can wish for Techland is that its second installment is as good as the first, I can’t wait to play it.
