Philippe Illegems and his companion had a bad start to their day as their organic store was robbed once more in Stavelot. The managers used surveillance cameras to capture the thief in action, who took a hairbrush, energy drinks, and pasta. The thief was skilled in placing himself in blind spots, making it difficult to determine the extent of the loot. Despite it being illegal, Bio-Zen officials chose to publish the outlaw’s photo and video on their networks to protect other traders from similar practices and possibly identify the thief. This is not the first time Bio-Zen has experienced theft, and managers installed surveillance devices two years ago, which unfortunately failed to deter the thief this time.
Bad start to the day for Philippe Illegems and his companion. Their organic store located in Stavelot has suffered yet another theft. Thanks to surveillance cameras, the managers were able to capture images of the thug in action. “From what we might observe, he grabbed a hairbrush, energy drinks and pasta. He seemed to have mastered his art well, because he knew how to place himself in the blind spots. It is therefore complicated to assess how much the loot amounts to”.
Even if it is illegal, Bio-Zen officials then chose to publish a photo and a video of the outlaw on their networks: “Through this dissemination, our main objective is to protect other traders from this kind of practice, in addition to possibly being able to know the identity of the thief. This is not the first time that thefts have been committed in our business. The merchants have also chosen to install surveillance devices two years ago to deter potential thieves. Without success this time.
Unfortunately, thefts can be a common occurrence for small business owners, and it’s always frustrating when it happens. Philippe Illegems and his team at Bio-Zen are doing their best to prevent future incidents and protect others in their community by sharing images of the thief. We can only hope that this will lead to the identification and apprehension of the culprit. In the meantime, it’s important for all of us to remember to be vigilant and look out for one another. Let’s support our local businesses and work together to make our communities safer.
