A duo that brought back 45% of the Celtics’ scoring in 2021-2022! And when both Celtics have each scored 30+ points in the same game, Boston has an impeccable 7-0 record. Brown set a career high for himself by turning 50 for the first time. As for his comprehension Tatum, he exceeded him twice. He now has 3 performances in the alltime Top 5 of the franchise in the company of Larry Bird et Kevin McHale. Mirroring the Celtics’ season, Tatum shifted into high gear starting in January 2022. With 10 minutes of additional playing time compared to the 2021 season and an indisputable starter status, Robert Williams III was one of the good surprises of the last campaign. Or rather a confirmation of the flashes he had shown earlier in his career. Perfect in its role as a roll bar protector, TimeLord shot 2.2 blocks while flirting with the double double average: 10.0 points and 9.6 rebounds. RWIII diffused a contagious defensive energy to the whole group which finished with the second best Defensive Rating of the League. Long considered the achilles heel of Boston, the position of pivot is no longer a problem. During this campaign, TimeLord broke his records for defensive (13 catches) and offensive (10 catches) rebounds.

Marcus Smart 11 Celtics vs Bucks 13/12/2021
Marcus Smart 11 Hawks vs Celtics 17/11/2021

Reconverted to a traditional leadership role for the needs of the team, Marcus Smart accomplished this mission quite well. With his best passing performance in career (5.9 assists) and his personal record beaten (13 offerings once morest the Jazz), the Celtics pit bull has turned the collective around. Despite a far from elite handle and a perfectible vision of the game, Smart served his teammates who had hot hands. Its real added value is, of course, on the other side of the floor, since it won the trophy of Defensive Player of the Yearbecoming the first guard since Gary Payton receive this honor.

Surprise in this category, we find the pivot Robert Williams III for a triple double achieved, not with the blocks, but with the assists. On New Year’s Eve, TimeLord broke the champagne once morest the Suns by compiling his first career TD: 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
His teammate Jaylen Brown followed suit in 2022 with his first two TDs as well: 11/22/11 in a win over the Knicks then 10/22/11 in the Milwaukee loss. Two games where he hit his personal best pass.
