The Union of Adventist Federations of France, Belgium and Luxembourg accompanies in pain and prayer the families and survivors of the attack last Thursday. Here is the message from the sister institution in Germany.
The regional leadership of the Adventist churches for the regions of Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Bremen (Hanse Association) expresses its sympathy to the families of the victims of the shooting at a center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hamburg- Alsterdorf. She calls on Adventist churches in Hamburg to pray for these people.
As Adventists in Hamburg, we woke up today to news of a shocking bloodshed in the Alstertal district. People died violently in our city. People who sought peace and the protection of religious spaces and who believed in the God of life who, in Jesus Christ, showed the way to community and peaceful coexistence.
Prayer for the victims and their families must now become our prayer. All Adventist churches in Hamburg are called to intercede. We express our sympathy and condolences to all members of the denomination of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hamburg, but especially to the families and loved ones affected.
We are concerned regarding the development of violence and human coldness in our city. We are all the more determined that we want to choose the path of peace and understanding, with all faiths and religions walking with us on this path”.
