The High Commission for Planning confirmed that it has taken measures to pay compensation to participants in the general population and housing census, insure them against risks and accidents they may be exposed to, and provide the necessary means of transportation.

A statement from the delegation stated that compensations for participants in the 2024 general population and housing census will be disbursed via bank transfer, whether for those who have a bank account or for those who have a payment account opened with money distribution agencies (Barid Cash; Cash Plus; Fakash; Daman Cash; Al-Fellahi Cash, etc.). This process will be carried out in two stages:

– Disbursement of in-person training compensation for observers and researchers extending from August 15 to 27, 2024, within a maximum period of 48 hours immediately after the completion of this training.
– Disbursement of compensation for the data collection phase that will be completed from September 1 to 30, 2024, within a period not exceeding 48 hours after the end of this phase and delivery of the electronic board to the High Commission for Planning.

The High Commission for Planning has also concluded an insurance contract for the benefit of participants in the 2024 General Population and Housing Census, covering the period from August 15 to September 30, 2024. This insurance covers medical and pharmaceutical expenses and hospitalization costs, and provides compensation to the insured, within the limits of the insured amounts, in the event of total or partial permanent disability, and in the event of death, God forbid. This insurance also provides immediate and appropriate medical assistance in emergency situations or unexpected accidents across all prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom.

A 24/7 call centre has been established to handle reports of physical incidents and ensure that assistance is provided quickly and efficiently.

Regarding means of transportation, the High Commission for Planning, in cooperation with the governors and workers, provided the necessary means of transportation to transport the census participants in rural areas and the suburbs of cities, by mobilizing state-owned vehicles and resorting to car rental when necessary.

The High Commission for Planning praised the measures taken by the Ministry of Interior, National Security and the Royal Gendarmerie to ensure the safety of participants in the general population and housing census and to protect electronic devices used in collecting data.
