Adnan Sami continued his speech and said that it took me 18 years but what I am trying to say here is that during these 18 years I did not talk about this to the world. I was rejected twice. I had to give up my original citizenship and for some time I was stateless. For a year and a half I had no connection with any country. A passport is just a document but I did not belong to any country and in that case, I could not travel. There was nothing I could do.’

Adnan Sami Khan was born in the UK and held Pakistani citizenship. He moved to India in 2001 where he got citizenship in 2016.
