Vienna (OTS) – “Margherita Spiluttini made history as a central figure in Austrian, indeed European, architectural photography and elevated this genre to a contemporary art form with her artistic interpretations. She was a master of design, a careful interpreter and an incomparable collector and preserver of buildings, places and spaces. Her extensive photographic collection is not only a chronicle of national and international architectural work, but an inexhaustible treasure trove of visual knowledge. Her career, her artistic vision and her achievements will be considered motivating and inspiring for a long time to come, and we will remember her and her oeuvre for a long time to come. My condolences go in particular to her family, her friends and her numerous companions,” said Andrea Mayer, Secretary of State for the Arts and Culture.
Margherita Spiluttini was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art and the Austrian State Prize for Artistic Photography.
