State of the healthcare system: 86% of Canadians are worried

A majority of Canadians are concerned regarding the state of the health care system in their province, according to a recent Leger poll.

The figures are not brilliant as 86% of respondents share their concerns regarding the system. The data on access to care are not more encouraging. More than half of the population (63%) thinks that it is difficult to have services to get treatment.

What explains these low statistics compared to the health system? It is above all the issues related to personnel that are raised. 54% of respondents say working conditions for nurses are poor in their province. 44% think healthcare workers should be allowed to take disruptive measures to achieve better working conditions.

The survey, conducted on behalf of the Canadian Press, was conducted in collaboration with the Association for Canadian Studies from January 20 to 22 among 1,554 Canadians.
