Ethiopian lawmakers have approved a state of emergency in Amhara. It had been decreed at the beginning of August because of the fighting between the federal army and the nationalist militias. At least 26 people were killed this Sunday in an airstrike.

South Africa is sadly known for its high crime rate. The authorities are seeing the addition of a new type of crime: kidnappings for ransom. In 2022, an average of 44 kidnappings per day were reported.
