THE High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has detained one suspect in a corruption case of the 2022 Post-Disaster School Infrastructure Rehabilitation and Renovation Project in Alor Regency. The crime cost the state up to IDR 4.1 billion.

NTT Attorney General’s Special Crimes Assistant Ridwan Angsar said the suspect was Quirinus Opat. He served as Head of the NTT Province II Post-Disaster School Infrastructure Rehabilitation and Renovation Work Selection Working Group in Alor Regency.

“From the results of the investigation, witness statements, expert statements, letters, clues and evidence, two initial pieces of evidence were found which were sufficient to determine Quirinus Opat as a suspect,” said Ridwan when contacted on Saturday (31/8).

The suspect has been detained since Friday (30/8) night. Quirinus is the 4th suspect in this case. Previously, three suspects had been detained, namely Eko Yohan Wahyudi as the 2022 PPK Implementer, who is also a civil servant at the NTT Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center.

Then Albertus Damiano Nobe as Director of PT Araya Flobamora Perkasa, and Augustinus Yacob Pisdon who is an entrepreneur.

He explained that Quirinus Opat as the Head of the Working Group won PT Araya Flobamora Perkasa which should not be worthy, or did not meet the qualifications. That made the work results not optimal.

“The actions of the suspects have resulted in at least Rp 4.1 billion in state losses,” he said. (Z-11)
