Three billion, 238 million, 629 thousand and 200 kwanzas is the amount to be invested in the containment and stabilization works of two ravines in the city of Dundo, province of Lunda-Norte, whose consignment act for the beginning of the contract took place yesterday , Wednesday,21.
These are the ravines that threaten to destroy the Sagrada Esperança Stadium, the Mussungue Water Treatment Plant and some homes.
According to the consignment contract, cited by ANGOP, the containment and stabilization works of the ravine in the Kamaquenzo neighborhood, which threatens to destroy the Sagrada Esperança Stadium, cost one billion, 239 million, 782 thousand and 666 kwanzas, and will last eight months and will employ more than 80 young people.
The containment and stabilization of the Mussungue ravine, which threatens the Water Treatment Plant, will cost one billion, 998 million, 847 thousand and 534 kwanzas, and will be carried out over a period of eight months, employing 110 young people.
On the occasion, the Minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, Carlos Dos Santos, said that the projects fall within the plan for emergency works and containment of ravines in the country.
He appealed to contractors to comply with the deadlines established in the contracts. On the other hand, the governor of Lunda-Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, praised the start of the works, highlighting that the completion of the works will guarantee security for the infrastructures and families who live along the ravines.
The province of Lunda-Norte has 98 cataloged ravines, of which seven are being intervened.
