Wealthy Russians, who earn more than 50 million rubles a year, must pay higher taxes. This proposal was made by a State Duma deputy, chairman of the party “A Just Russia – Patriots – for the Truth” Sergei Mironov.

“We propose to adopt amendments to the Tax Code, which collect additional taxes. I believe that super-rich people should receive 18% of incomes of more than 50 million rubles a year, ”Mironov wrote in his telegram channel.

Mironov said that wealthy people who took money out of the country might transfer more taxes to the Russian budget. These funds might be used to pay benefits, but now the foreign accounts of rich Russians are frozen and they will not receive money back in the near future, the deputy said.

From 2021, Russians with incomes of more than 5 million rubles pay an increased tax of 15%. Earlier, Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the Financial Market Committee of the State Duma, in a conversation with URA.RU suggested raise income tax up to 20% for Russians with a salary of more than a million rubles a month. Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and politician Yevgeny Nifantyev proposed to raise the tax by 2% for those who receive more than 5 million rubles, reports Vse42.ru.
