State award for film produced by KSF DC

Thiruvananthapuram: Nishidho, produced by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSF DC) for the state government, bagged the second best film award at the 52nd State Film Awards. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan distributed the award at the state film award ceremony held at Nishagandi. Tara Ramanujan, the director of Nishidho, received the director award and the producer award went to Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSF DC) managing director N Maya IFS.

Nishidho is the first film produced by KSF DC as part of the Kerala government’s innovative initiative to support women directors. KSF DC Chairman and eminent filmmaker Shaji N Karun was also present. Tara Ramanujan’s first film Nishidho revolves around the relationship between a laborer who migrated to Kerala from West Bengal and a Tamil woman and their life conflicts. It stars Kani Kusushi and Tanmay Dhananya. The film was screened at major film festivals and won several awards and critical acclaim. Nishidho was selected as the Best Feature Film at the 2022 Ottawa Indian Film Festival.

26th International Film Festival of Kerala 2022 26th International Film Festival of Kerala 2022 International Competition Section for Best Debut Director from India FFSI KR. The film won Tara Ramanujan the Mohanan Award. The film was screened at the Indian Cinema Competition section of the 13th Bengaluru International Film Festival and at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival.
