The startup Giross (@girossapp) received the certificate from the Apex-Brasil Export Qualification Program. Recognition is given to brands that are highly qualified to enter the international market. After the achievement, the application now expands its operation to Portugal.
In a foreign country, the Giross app proposes to activate the same functions that it proposes in Brazil, being a delivery service that serves companies and individuals with reduced rates. The brand has clients such as Drogasil, Arezzo and Subway, as well as several companies in the pharmaceutical segment.
For Luiz Miranda, a national investor, obtaining the export certificate from Apex is a step forward not only for the company, but for the startup ecosystem in Brazil as a whole. “Brazil has just received an achievement that elevates the country in the technological sector. This feat (by Giross) demonstrates that national startups have the potential and viability to expand internationally and compete globally”,
concludes.
How to get the certificate?
To be able to obtain the certificate, the brand needed to prove its real chance of global consolidation, with an expansion of the customer network, a constant increase in revenue and the search for new sources of financing, as well as strategies to stop the expansion of competition.
Therefore, as this process requires an extensive planning phase, Giross achieved Apex certification gradually and tactically. First, it achieved different awards and certifications before reaching its worldwide expansion. One of them was the Anvisa certificate, which expanded the application’s security notions.
“For those who work with cargo transport, especially medicines, it is extremely necessary to have the Anvisa Seal. This certification aims to register products to ensure they are safe. Transporters who do not have this certificate can face fines and even have their cargo seized”, highlights Vitor Caires, co-founder of the brand.
Giross’ next steps
Now, with the new phase, the application, which accumulated more than R$6 million in revenue in 2022 alone and which operates in more than 340 cities in Brazil, is preparing to activate its insurance and its operations in several other countries.
“In the Giross app there are over 45 thousand couriers and a personalized route system, with an evaluation process (score) that preserves the company’s reputation”, explains Filipe Martins, co-founder.
